A Very Nice Day Trip - Wade Lake & Cliff Lake, Montana

Wade Lake and Cliff Lake are tucked back into a desert terrain near West Yellowstone. As you travel in to these lovely clear lakes, you are moving through a very arid, almost barren landscape. As you round a bend in the road, suddenly you spot the lakes. This was another of the beautiful places we explored while in the Yellowstone area.

Images From Waterton International Peace Park

Waterton is directly north of Glacier, just across the Canadian border in Alberta. The vistas are absolutely wonderful...sweeping views of mountains, rivers and lakes. There is abundant wildlife here also. The town of Waterton has a herd of resident deer, that move freely about the township. We would like to come back to this area again, with our RV so we can stay longer. (The last picture was at our campsite south of Glacier heading back to Yellowstone Holiday.)
What a world our Lord has created!

Glacier National Park - A Jewel in the National Park Crown

To celebrate our 40th anniversary, we took four days off from our Workamping duties to visit Glacier National Park and it's Canadian companion, Waterton. We chose to leave the RV parked at Yellowstone Holiday and drove Harvey the Honda up to Glacier.
We rented a bare-bones cabin in Hungry Horse, Montana while we explored Glacier. On our way back we stayed in a Montana State Park in a 4-man tent we had purchased specifically for this trip. Oh...NOW I remember why we enjoy "camping" in an RV!
Glacier is a scenic wonder, as is Waterton. This was a truly memorable trip.

West Yellowstone, Montana

West Yellowstone was the nearest town for us. Thirteen miles from Yellowstone Holiday and one mile from the western entrance to Yellowstone National Park, West Yellowstone is mostly a tourist town, a jumping off place with services for Park visitors. The town stayed busy in the summer months with rodeos, a Centennial Celebration, the Mountain Man Rendezvous, and other special events. It is also the home of the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center, an attraction that is well worth a visit. We tried to sample as much of what West Yellowstone had to offer while we were in the area.

So Much To See In The Yellowstone Area

On our days off we explored the whole Yellowstone area, the Madison Range, Graveley Range, over to Idaho (Mesa Falls and Henry's Fork), even visiting old ghost towns. Yellowstone National Park is the centerpiece, but since we had more time than the usual visitor, plus input from the locals, we experienced much more than just the Park. What a blessing to be able to travel around in this wonderful and scenic part of America.
