Montana Ahead! 2008's Adventure continues
After saying our goodbyes to our niece Janice and her family we headed to Montana and Yellowstone Holiday RV Park & Marina, which sits right on the shore of beautiful Hebgen Lake, one of Montana's premier cold water lakes, famous for water sports and great fishing. We arrived toward the end of May and were surprised to see chunks of ice floating in the lake as we drove in. Hebgen Lake is south of Quake Lake, the lake that was formed in 1959 when an earthquake dammed up the Madison River. The whole area is to the west of Yellowstone National Park, which is known for it's own geological wonders and potential hazards. Wildlife from the Park wanders through Yellowstone Holiday early in the season so we had the chance to see several species of the varied animals for which the area is noted. We knew this was going to be a wonderful season! Although we did not make it to Alaska, we were quite satisfied with our new destination.
